Reykjavik city break
Reykjavik city break
Iceland is trending! Earlier this month I had my dream finally come true - I visited Reykjavik! So many of you asked to share recommendations. Sharing all below, save it for your next adventure.
I stayed at Reykjavik Edition. This is the only 5 star hotel in Reykjavik and it’s absolutely gorgeous! To be honest you won’t even need to leave the hotel because everything that you might need will be there: SPA, great Tides restaurant, rooftop bar, bakery with many more features opening soon.
Sky Lagoon. Just minutes ride from the city centre and you’ll be lost in Icelandic healing nature.
Tides Restaurant. We had our first dinner here and decided to go back for our farewell meal too. Exceptional food and amazing wine list!
BakaBaka bakery for the best cinnamon rolls on earth
Braud & Co bakery. The look of their pastries lined up in the window won’t let you pass them by
Organ music concert at Hallgrímskirkja. There are ticketed as well as free performances throughout the season. You can also climb Hallgrímskirkja tower for the city views (but don’t need to do that if staying in Reykjavik Edition, best views are from there )
Walk rainbow street and explore colourful streets of downtown. If you are planning your trip well ahead, yearly Culture Night is a great time to visit the city!
Reykjavik has a lot of museum and you probably won’t have time to visit most of them. If you need to choose, I loved Art Museum HAFNARHÚS
And don’t forget to set up a wake-up call with the reception in case of Northern Lights! It was unforgettable (even though I don’t have any good images of it! Make sure your phone is charged, not like mine)
