Rodizio experience at Fazenda in the City

Honestly, I’ve never even heard of the Rodizio concept before, Fazenda restaurant in the City invited me to visit them and experience it myself. Basically, Rodizio is a style of service in Brazilian dining. Rodizio is Portuguese for “rotation” or “turn”. Servers rotate freshly cooked meats and carve them directly onto your plate. It’s a truly unique dining experience and now you can try it in the Square Mile!

The experience starts with a visit to a very large Market Table where you are invited to enjoy a selection of delicious salads, fresh vegetables and side dishes. Although you’ll want to try everything, I warn you to go lightly on the Market Table because you don’t want to miss on a-la-carte starters too. We had a giant grilled prawn and absolutely mindblowing Wagyu croquetas, a must try!

After the visit to the Market Table, it’s time for the main event. There were 15 grilled meats on offer and waiters started to come around with large skewers slicing off pieces of delicious succulent meat directly onto our plates (they’ll keep coming until you say stop). The meats were all cooked slowly, a celebration of Churrasco cooking, so they are wonderfully tender and juicy. Our favourite were Barriga De Porco (pork belly), Wagyu beef spicy sausage and grilled pineapple as a palette cleanser.

By the time you said to stop bringing you new cuts, dessert might not be on your mind but trust me you don’t want to miss out on these! We shared one and it was delicious and a perfect finish to our feast.

If you’ve never tried Rodizio before, it’s an experience unlike any other! If you’re dining solo, celebrating a special occasion or looking for a party idea (their private room pictured below), I can’t recommend Fazenda restaurant more!
