A luxury bedroom transformation on the budget
In Partnership with Lucie Annabel
Last two years were a real rollercoaster and decorating our flat was put on hold. Finally, in February I got a bit more time and so excited to be going back to my lifestyle content! First things first, having a baby meant I had to reduce my working hours however expenses skyrocketed starting a nursery. Also in general it’s not an easy economic times and we had to decide on the (very limited) budget. Is it realistic to do what we wanted to do with our bedroom and spend less than £1000? One weekend of builders labour is about £500-600 so we had £400-500 for the rest. Keeping refurb to the minimum days also meant we can’t waste time to make walls ideal. That’s where the idea of decorating with wallpapers came in. It needs minimum wall preparation, masks all wall imperfections and looks great. We made a research on styles we wanted and stopped our choice on Lucy Annabel range. Luxury traditional style brought all the feelings we wanted for our bedroom
I’ve ordered the samples in and here we were, choosing the style and colour palette.
To be honest this was was probably the most difficult part - we had quite a few favourites. Considering a modest size of the room we eventually decided to go for a lighter palette with one darker focus wall. The choice was Garden Visitors in Earl Grey paired with Sweet Magnolia Plain in Linen Cream.
The rest was easy. After all the awful stories about builders that I’ve heard recently I was dreading of dealing with them! I suppose I got very lucky and they were very professional, polite and efficient. Prepared walls and decorated the main wall on the first day and finished the rest on the second. Seriosly couldn’t have a smoother experience. Absolutely love the final result!
