Yet another weekend exploring the UK and I can’t be happier about it. This time we headed to not-so-touristy North Somerset, little town of Cleveden. As a base we chose comfortable and affordable Days Inn by Wyndham Sedgemoor. It’s about 15 minutes drive to Clevedon and very convenient if you want to visit other seaside towns around.

Clevedon is famous for it’s pier - England’s only Grade 1 listed pier, with Victorian Pagoda opened in 1869. Pier is ran by volunteers and has a restaurant with superb food, drinks and cakes. This was our first stop of the day so we tried their full English and it was delicious. Not to forget this gorgeous view of the pier!

After a lazy morning on the pier we took a long walk along Poet’s Walk. The walk is a little over a mile in length but the area includes a wealth of features, including limestone grassland, woodland, a rich diversity of wildlife, an Iron Age fort, Second World War shelter, and stunning views across the Bristol Channel. Its name is a reference to the English poets Samuel Taylor Coleridge and Alfred Tennyson, who visited Clevedon and were inspired by the time they spent there. At the end of the walk we stopped at The Salthouse Bar & restaurant for the best fish & chips in town!

To finish the day we headed to The Moon and Sixpence pub for a couple of pints with the view of the pier.
